About Us
Our Focus…
We are encouraged by the demand for afterschool chess in Marin County. We continue our chess program at San Jose Middle School in Novato for 2011-12 academic calendar.
Developing the independent learner is our focus, and the HYA mission.
Our History…
In 2005, HYA realized a need for greater college access for 1st generation college bound students in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our partnership with Saint Mary’s College of California supports annual college visits for 1200 students.
HYA events allow students a tour of the college campus, meetings with college mentors, attend a WCC sporting event, and provide college discussions on the value of dedication to work principles.
HYA supported 1100 AVID student visits to Saint Mary’s College (from the Tracy, Hayward and Novato)
Maintaining our HYA events in the East Bay
Expanding our afterschool enrichment operations into Novato and Marin County is our goal for 2012.
