About Us

Our Focus…

Our focus is on improving study skills, academic achievement, effort, and positive motivation in the education of elementary/ and middle school students.  Hayward Youth Academy (HYA) strive to impact the lives of youth and families with our after-school program serving the San Francisco Bay Area.

HYA developmental programs focus on (4) areas of improvement:

Academics

Athletics

Life Coaching

Nutrition

We served 70 youth in our afterschool Chess Club and Scrabble Club in Hayward during  the 2009-10 academic year, receiving the Hayward “Hero Award 2010” by the Hayward Education Foundation (HEF).

HYA organized 2300 for the Diamon Simpson Nights (2008-09) and Omar Samhan Nights (2009-10) at Saint Mary’s College, organizing elementary/middle school youth for a college tour, on campus dinner, educational presentation and basketball game at the SMC campus.

Hayward students received (1100 tickets) to Saint Mary’s College youth events over the past 3 years.  We thank SMC President, Brother Ron Gallagher for speaking to the youth during the “O”Zone Nights, honoring Omar Samhan’s support of Youth Outreach and Education on February 6, 2010.

HYA programs are geared for parent demanding high goals for their children, and our mission is to serve these families who need resources and support between the hours of 3pm-7pm in education.

Educational research support critical thinking, reasoning, and social development as a methodology toward academic success.
