Pleasanton couple's dog a winning wiener

"In the seven years they have been together, Patrick Major has seen Sammy Davis transform from a playful pet to one of the fastest dachshund racers in the state. Even though he stands only about 6 inches tall, Sammy can pump his stubby little legs and leap through the air to catch Frisbees nearly as big as he is. And, this pooch was a doggie pinup in the International Disc Dog calendar three years running." Read More Here

Dear Mr Major,

Thank you so much for inviting the Academy and AVID to Saint Mary’s College. I had so much fun Saturday. The food was really good in the dining hall. I also liked the campus, it was really nice. The guest speakers were funny, and spoke well. The most fun was the basketball game of course. The game was very entertaining to watch. I liked the music that they played in breaks. I wish I could go back to Saturday, that is how much fun I had. Thank you so much again for letting us go to Saint Mary’s. Oh, and thanks for paying for the food and tickets. Sincerely, Natalie, Hamilton Meadow Middle School AVID

Dear Mr Major,

I cannot believe you did this for us! The trip was great. St Mary’s College was very beautiful. I loved the food court with all the divine food; it looked and tasted remarkable. The speakers were very motivating, and made my future more clear. They gave me a reason why I should go to college. I thought the basketball game was fun too, watching the players score 3 pointers and the crowd reaction. Thanks again for the amazing trip. Sincerely, Michael Carbonaro

Dear Mr Major,

I wanted to thank you for inviting Academy to Saint Mary’s College. The food was divine. I mostly enjoyed the pizza, and how the speakers presented themselves. Instead of the speech being short and boring, it was funny, but yet serious. The game was sort of long but worth it. I even got on T.V. I told my whole family about the trip and how much fun it was.  I even told my mom that the producers are going to be calling the phone. The Saint Mary’s team dominated and almost doubled their score. I even had this poster that I made that said, “Get on Board the Gael Train.” Lastly, I am very thankful that you invited the Academy. Sincerely, Jocelyn Villalta, Hamilton Meadows Middle School Academy.

Dear Mr Major,

Thank you for the field trip on Saturday, it was amazing! I loved the basketball game and the school. I thought the lunch room would be small, but it was huge, and the food was delicious. Sincerely, Christopher Zavala, Hamilton Middle School AVID

It is really nice. We enjoyed it. I just wanted to say thank you.You were also a very good substitute teacher for Mrs. Krauss’ class. Dear President of HYA,

I really appreciate you for getting us the tickets for the basketball game, and the great guest speakers. The basketball game was awesome. They played much better than the University of San Francisco. Saint Mary’s had most of the tall guys, and San Francisco had no defensive people. The guest speakers were very influential. They informed me a lot about college and universities. Mr. Brown was very influential, he told us that we should not let anyone say we are not college material. I was mesmerized by that man when he told us he was the teacher of Omar Samhan, and many of the other guest speakers. It totally shocked me when he told us someone told him he was not college material; turns out he was college material. Omar was helpful, because he told us the difference between private and public colleges. I did not know that in a private college like Saint Mary’s, you could get so much attention. A class with a 12 to 1 ration will keep the whole class attentive. I appreciate your hospitality because some of the private colleges would not have done this. Great food, a tour of the campus, guest speakers, and the basketball game. Once again, Thank you VERY MUCH! Sincerely, Farhad Fazei, Tracy Unified AVID
